Dansco Type Set Update: By now, you may have heard that Dansco shipped out a limited number of Type Set albums (7070) earlier this month.
We’ve received quite a few inquiries and hope the following helps answer any questions you might have.
Is Dansco planning on shipping more 7070 Type albums?
Yes. Soon. Possibly in the next week or two. We anticipate it will be a small amount. But it is our understanding Dansco intends to continue making the 7070 album.
Was the Type album updated to include newer type coins, such as National Park Quarters?
No. The albums shipped by Dansco were not updated, and are identical to the 7070 albums last made 4 or 5 years ago. The album is 5 pages, and does not include the Gold Type page 6. We do not anticipate delivery on the Gold Type page until October or November.
When will an updated Type album be available?
We don’t know for sure. We are currently in contact with Dansco and they appear to be working on it. There is no solid release date.
How many Type albums did Dansco make and ship earlier this month?
Not enough! The quantity we received was very small, arrived without much prior notice, and we sold out immediately. For this reason, we did not run any promotional campaigns for the album at that time.
“I placed an order for 7070 Dansco albums last year. Does Transline still have my back order?”
No. We do not. All prior back orders for the Type album were cleared out of our system last year.
Should I place a pre-order for the 7070 Type album with Transline?
YES! We will hold those orders open in anticipation of another shipment from Dansco, and will ship them out in the order they are received**.
**Will Transline cover shipping on 7070 pre-orders under $300?
No. We will not. If you request a call prior to shipping your back order, you may lose priority when the albums are released if we are unable to reach you. Our policy on Dansco album back orders is we do not cover the shipping where the total amount available to release is under $300.
