Dansco Coin Albums have been a longtime companion for both expert numismatists and beginning coin collectors. The Liberty Seated Dollars 1840-1873 Dansco Album comes in a 7/8" binder and holds up to 45 coins. The album has 5 Dansco pages (series: 6171-1 to 6171-5), each one holding and displaying all Liberty Seated dollars minted from 1840-1873. The U.S. Mint had ceased the production of silver dollars from 1804-1835, and even though some coins were issued between 1836 and 1839, it wasn't until 1840 when silver dollars were completely back in circulation. The new coins were struck with Christian Gobrecht's design. Two of the Liberty Seated dollars are among the rarest in U.S. coin history. The 1870-S and the 1866 "No Motto" sold for more than $1 million in 2003 and 2005 respectively. Liberty Seated dollars are made of 90% silver and 10% copper. They measure 38.1 mm in diameter, and each weighs 26.73 grams. Dansco Coin Albums have their pages attached with metal screws, making it easy to add and replace.
