To successfully complete the steps to determine 22k
gold karat values, it is necessary to have:
22k Gold testing acids
Testing stones
First step: The testing stone to use has
to be thoroughly cleaned with
test acid neutralizers. Using water to wash the testing stones is not
as accurate.
Second step: Scratch the gold piece on the
testing stone and then apply
over the rubbed area the 22k acid solution.
Reading the results: If the colored
line left by the gold scratch on the stone completely disappears, then
the gold piece tested is less than 22K. If the color remains firmly
under the solution on the testing stone, then the gold piece is 22k or
higher.
